Bob Condor on the Book of Mormon
Being raised in Salt Lake City, the Book of Mormon was always discussed and around me. I knew it must be true because my parents were followers of the words. Unfortunately, I accepted it as just another part of everyday life, and not anything special.
As I grew, I had experiences that questioned the teachings and invited me to participate. Some were from individuals I thought were friends. Others from people I knew were not. As I traveled and worked in different societal situations, I realized I had something special in my life that I did not find in others.
As life moved on and I became a father, I became introspective about my life and the direction it may take. I kept my precious children in mind and knew I could have a great influence on them; I had to always be an example, always a better man.
I accepted the lifestyle my wonderful parents had exemplified. I made their teachings a part of my daily life. They taught me to speak openly about my testimony in Jesus Christ and in the words and doctrine found in the Book of Mormon. I find peace and calm in my life as I study the words, the doctrine, and the examples of those who lived so long ago.
I know from my personal experiences that Jesus is the Christ, that he lives and loves each of us immensely, and the Book of Mormon is here for us as a witness and a way to come closer to our Heavenly Father. I found peace and calm every time I read from its pages. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
