I grew up in American Fork in Utah Valley, Utah where I graduated from High School in 1970. I attended Rick’s College (BYU Idaho) and Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University in Utah where I studied Art and Design. I worked in a sculpture fine art Bronze Foundry for many years in Lehi, Utah.
In the early 1990’s I worked with several Archaeologists at various locations in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming, including T. Michael Smith, Archaeologist for the LDS Church. I worked on a detailed project at Capitol Reef National Park with Rick Hauck and Garth Norman. I helped with the original Government Survey at the Parowan Gap with both V. Garth Norman and Nal Morris.
In 1995 I received a scholarship to study in London at what later became known as the Kings’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, where I graduated in 1998. I studied and did research in Art History and Aesthetics and received a PH.D. degree.
I have had many great experiences over the years with Garth Norman working and studying here in Utah at the Parowan Gap ancient Petroglyph and Calendar site.
C. Lance Harding on the Book of Mormon
I read the Book of Mormon when I was a youth, long before I finished reading the entire Bible. The Book of Mormon helped me so much to understand the history and teachings of the Holy Bible.
After working with dedicated Meso-American Archaeologists Garth Norman and Rick Hauck and by studying the Book of Mormon Texts in Detail, there is no question in my mind where the Geography and History of the Book actually happened. But, I do not separate Meso-America from North America as they are both the same continent. Over hundreds of years, it is obvious that there were migrations by Book of Mormon Peoples throughout North America and even South America. I also believe the ancient people migrated from Asia to North America.
After working with Garth Norman at the Parowan Gap and Rochester Wash in Utah, I know that the 260- day Mayan Calendar was brought from Meso-America through Mexico to the Heartland of the current United States. I studied with Garth how Book of Mormon original ancient ancestors migrated across the oceans to the Americas from the ancient Middle-east and Israel. I helped with the research and ancient measurements for Garth’s book – “Cubit Connection in Ancient World Migrations” which proves that there are oceanic connections between the Eastern and Western hemispheres.
I have a testimony of the truth contained in the teachings and doctrines of Christ taught by the Book of Mormon, given to me by revelation. (Moroni 10:3-7)
