Kirk Magleby on the Book of Mormon
At age 15, I asked God if the Book of Mormon is true, and He blessed me with an undeniable spiritual witness that has anchored my testimony ever since. Being naturally curious, I have invested considerable time in research and travel, trying to understand how the Book of Mormon fits in both ancient Near Eastern and American contexts. Some of my personal exploratory odyssey is documented in my Book of Mormon Resources blog. With insights gained from anthropology, geography, geology, history, linguistics, literary analysis, political science, theology, and other relevant disciplines, I am more convinced than ever that the Book of Mormon is beautiful, miraculous, and true. I recommend the Book of Mormon to all of God’s children. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, demonstrating to Jew and Gentile that He was Jehovah of the Old Testament and Lord of the New Testament. My personal experience vindicates the prophet Joseph Smith who said, “a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.“
